Picture Day/Picture Retakes - October 13th

The Lifetouch photographers are returning Wednesday, October 13th to take photos of all learners returning face-to-face that were virtual. These are the photos that will be in the Town Center yearbook, so every child will have their photo taken even if they are not purchasing a picture package. We will send home picture order forms for our learners returning on October 12th. You are also able to order online at mylifetouch.com. Our school code is EVTP7CBJ2.

If any of our face-to-face learners would like picture retake, please make sure your child and their homeroom teacher know. We will include them on this day!

Boosterthon Fun Run

We're two weeks away from our TCE Fun Run Fundraiser! Our goal is to raise $15,000 for PTO funds that support classroom grants and school resources. Our fundraising event will be a "fun run" during the school day on October 21st. All families get to participate in the TCE Fun Run event day, regardless of financial participation. Registration is officially open on mybooster.com.

1. Register your child(ren) on mybooster.com. It is free and takes 30 seconds!

*We have an incentive for each classroom that gets all students registered by October 13th!*

2. Share with 5 family/friends using the share tools on mybooster.com (Facebook, Text Message, or Email). Students will earn rewards just for sharing from mybooster.com.

3. Give a donation if you are able to give. You can pledge money per lap or just a flat donation--every bit makes a difference!

A few things to know about the fundraiser:
All families can support our school either by donating, sharing on funrun.com, or both.
Students can receive rewards when parents share from mybooster.com

What We Are Learning:

Language Arts

In Writing Workshop this week we will continue writing a sentence in our journals! Our sentence will be an "I like...." sentence and we will illustrate a picture that matches our words. We will learn about how sentences begin with a capital letter, end with a period, and have spaces between words! We we will also get two new SNAP Words: "said" and "we."

In Phonics we will continue to talk about the common sounds that letters represent!
We are also learning about the difference between letters, words, and sentences. We are learning about how letters make up words and words make up sentences.

In Reading we will focus on how re-reading storybooks can help us to learn more!

Math

In Math this week, we will begin diving deeper into our numeracy skills. This week we will focus on subitizing and counting to 10. This means being able to instantly recognize a group of objects up  to 10. It also means that when given a group of counters, your child will be able to correctly count how many there are!  Here is a fun subiziting song to put your skills to the test:

Science

In Science this week, we will begin a new unit on
"How Things Move"
We will learn about force and motion (push and pull) and discuss speed, directionality, etc.
Be on the lookout for Scientist of the Week!  Coming Soon!

Social Studies

We will learn about patriotic holidays in our country and in others!
