Mind Missions: Kwanzaa Kinara

Kindergarten News December 7th - December 12th 2015

What we’re

      Workin’ on next week..

Language Arts

We will be continuing our author study in Language Arts this week!  We are loving Jan Brett!  We will also be doing some fun rotations after we have learned about several of Jan Brett's books!  We are focusing on the three parts of a story: Beginning, Middle, and Ending! We are having a great time! Our new word wall words will be:  "is" and "my"

Math

We will be continuing our unit on money. This will help us as we begin a unit on Personal Financial Literacy.  This ties into skills that we need for jobs, learning about earning money as well as receiving money as a gift!

We will be continuing our new daily five stations that are working on extending what we have learned with composing and decomposing numbers.

Science / Social Studies

In Science we will be continuing our Trees & Weather Foss Kit.    We will be doing some learning stations on trees and how they change over the seasons.  Don't forget to bring your tree homework on Monday! Thanks!

In Social Studies we are continuing our unit on Family Customs and Traditions.  We will be having several visitors share about the traditions in their families.  Thanks so much to all who volunteered, I am so excited to see you next week!  We have been doing some team building activities to get ready for our Mind Missions which a creative problem solving tool to use in Social Studies.  Ask your kids about it!
