March 25th - 29th

What We're Working on This Week

Language Arts:

This week we are working hard on our writing!  We have started setting writing goals and each time we write in our new journals we review our goals and check for mastery of that goal after we complete the days journal entry!  Everyone is doing great! Ask them what writing goal they are working on at home!

Social Studies

We will continue our unit on geography and places around our world! So far we have discussed positional words like: above, below, next to, across from... etc...
We will now focus on maps and what they tell us and why they are important to us!

Math

In Math this week, we are learning all about geometry. We will be learning about 2D shapes and their attributes. We look forward to creating many creative projects and doing many FUN stations to learn all about our shapes. Here is one of our FAVORITE songs! (Although, when the song says "diamond" we say "NO!" because we know the real word is RHOMBUS!)

Science

In Science, we will be learning all about plants. In the past week we have learned the difference between living and nonliving things. We have learned that living things move and grow, need energy (like food and water!), and reproduce. We are excited to extend that learning into learning all about plants!!

TCE's 2nd Annual Culture Night

We are excited to have our 2nd annual Culture Night at TCE. Last year was such a great success with all the dishes you shared with our TCE community. If you would like to share an appetizer, main dish or dessert on March 28th please sign up below. We will get back with you with more specific details as the event grows near. TCE will provide sample cups to share the dish you bring. This event was successful because of all of our families' contributions. Thank you for making our school so great!

Be on the lookout for more information about this event including performances and interactive stations!
