October 8th - 12th

What We're Working on This Week:



Language Arts

This week we will continue working on writing
"I like_____. ______ are _______."
sentences in our journals. For Example: 
I like pumpkins.
Pumpkins are orange.

We will review our first 10 Word Wall Words!  I will put them below so you can practice them at home too!  Everyone is doing great!  We will do a little assessment and send it home to you this week so you can see what words your child needs a little practice on!

Social Studies

We are continuing our new unit called: Our Country, the Land We Love!
We will continue learning about our country, the United States of America!  This week we will talk about Christopher Columbus and his sail to America! :) 






Math

In Math this week, we will be continuing to practice and master our amazing addition skills! We will practice our strategies for how to solve addition problems. These include using counters, drawing pictures, counting our fingers, and using a number line to count and add! 







Science

In Science this week we will be continuing our unit all about force! We will learn about the ways objects move and how gravity affects us! We are excited about doing some hands-on exploring to see just how force and motion makes things move!





Library Day - Mondays 

We will not have library this week due to no school on Monday!  Please save your books and bring them back on Monday, October 15th so you can check out a new one!  


Terrific Tiny Texans

Terrific Tiny Texans will be back next week!  We are so proud of all our Kindergarten friends! Keep up the great work!

Metrocrest Food Drive

Our TCE student council is partnering with Metrocrest Services to provide food donations for local families and senior citizens. The food drive will run October 9th-19th. Thank you for your generous hearts!

Kinder - "Garden"


We are so excited about doing some hands-on learning out in our TCE Garden and community garden. We are planning our first "Kinder-Garden" day on October 26th. We will spend some time in station rotations planting new seeds in our TCE Garden Bed, watering the garden, reading books about the garden, and visiting our community garden.
