Kindergarten News: February15th - February 19th

What we’re
Workin’ on this week..

Language Arts

We will review what we have learned about vowels and consonants as well as our rules for writing: start with a capital letter, use finger spaces between words, and end with a period.  We will learn three new words: "look"  "they" and "you."  We will continue to practice writing Once Upon A Time Stories in our journals and using SeeSaw to share our work with you! Book Bags will come home Tuesday! :)

Math

We will be finishing our unit on shapes! Thank you to everyone who sent in an email for the fun activity that is focusing on finding shapes (2D and 3D) within the world! I love how the kids were so excited for me to watch their videos. I will be compiling all of the videos into one video per shape and putting it on my website under math vocabulary. Check out our math vocabulary that we have used this year! ( The kids have been making videos and examples for each of the words!)

In Science we will be finishing our Penguin Unit.  We used the website Britannica, with the help of Mrs. Montgomery, to research facts about penguins.  We will finish writing facts from our research, and creating our penguin to display in the hallway.  We will build penguin habitats on Thursday.

In Social Studies we are going to continue our study on Presidents.  We will learn many interesting facts about our past and present leaders and how they impacted our Country.  We will learn how to draw George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  Can't wait to see how cute they turn out!
