Take a Peek at our Week

Language Arts

Writer's Workshop:
This week in Writer's Workshop we will wrap up our unit on Opinion Writing! We have had a great time learning how to share our thoughts, ideas, feelings, and preferences.

Reading Workshop / Phonics:
We will complete our unit on Poetry! We will read a few more poetry books and find the beat, rhythm, and meter in different types of poems. We will also be listening for rhyming words and word families!

Math

In Math this week, we will be continuing our Geometry unit! This week will begin learning all about 3D shapes. We will learn that 3D shapes have faces, edges, and vertices. We will learn the names of different 3D shapes, and we will be able to tell about real world examples of each type of shape we learn about.

We will be creating a 3D shape museum next Friday, April 29th. Please be looking for information to come home in your child's folder about that!

Social Studies

In Social studies this week, we will be celebrating Earth Day! We will create some fun Earth Day crafts and learn about ways that we can care for our Earth.

Science

In Science this week, we will be learning all about animal habitats. We will learn that animals have their basic needs met by what is in their habitat. We will learn which animals live in which types of habitats.
