Calendar Dates:

Friday, April 15th - will now be a regular school day!

Reading Rainbow Bingo Cards

Please send in any reading rainbow bingo cards! We are so thrilled to see so many families reading at home! It is never too late! If you still have some to turn in feel free! We are on our last card, PURPLE!


Book Bags / Library Books

We will go to the library on Monday, April 11th! Please return any library books by Monday so your child can check out a new one!

Take a Peek at our Week

Language Arts

Writer's Workshop:
This week in Writer's Workshop we will continue our new unit on Opinion Writing! We will learn how to share our thoughts and ideas and give reasons to back them up! We have been reading fiction, non-fiction,  and poetry on cats and dogs and we are getting ready to give our opinion on the "best pet." 

Reading Workshop / Phonics:
We will continue our unit on Poetry! We will keep reading poetry books and finding the beat, rhythm, and meter in different types of poems. We will also be listening for rhyming words and word families!


Math

In Math this week, we will be beginning our Geometry unit! We will spend this week reviewing our 2D shapes and their attributes. We will be able to sort and classify shapes according to their different attributes. We will celebrate all of our learning at the end of the week by create a scrumptious SHAPE pizzeria! 


Social Studies

In Social studies this week, we will begin learning about different types of landforms and bodies of water. We will learn about Earth's resources and weather while also using different map tools and globes.


Science

In Science this week, we will be diving deep into our Life Science unit. We will begin learning about animals and their physical characteristics. We will learn about different animal coverings and how they keep each animal safe. We will become experts at sorting by different animal coverings such as fur, scales, feathers, etc.
