What We Are Learning

Language Arts

In Reader's Workshop this week we will start a new unit on becoming an AVID Reader! We will learn and talk about how AVID Readers LOVE Reading books!  Don't forget to come pick up your new books and return your old ones on Tuesday, February 16th.  

Face to Face Learners return your RED Book Bags on Tuesday 2/16 to get new books!

Virtual Learners bring your 6 books back and pick up 6 new books on Tuesday, February 16th at the front door of the school in the pick up bins!

In Writer's Workshop we will continue our unit on "How TO...." writing! Everyone is doing a great job!!!! 

We will also get 2 new SNAP Words!!! Keep practicing your SNAP Words! You are doing great! 

Library Day

Face to Face learners, please return books on Tuesday, February 16th  in order to check out a new book.

Math

In Math this week, we will be reviewing our AWESOME Addition skills! We will review the different strategies we use to solve addition problems. We will also look at solving story problems with addition. 

Science

In Science this week, we are going to be reviewing all of the  Earth Materials we have learned about. We will review rocks, soil, and water, and how these Earth materials are useful. We will show our knowledge by completing a writing assignment about all of the Earth Materials we have  learned about! 

Social Studies

In Social Studies this week, we will learn about Geography! We will introduce Maps Skills!We will start this unit by focusing on  areas we know (maps of our room, houses, school, etc.)  We will also learn all about the symbols on Maps!

Kindergarten Supply Pick Up

We will have another round of Kindergarten supply pick up and book exchange on Tuesday, February 16th. Virtual  families can come to school any time (8:00 - 3:00) on February 16th. Please return your bag of books, and you will be able to get a new set of books!
