Take a Peek at our Week
Language Arts
Writer's Workshop:
This week in Writer's Workshop we will continue writing sentences in our journals!
We are working on adding more than one sentence on a single topic!
We are practicing becoming brave spellers to hear and record the sounds we find in words!
A complete list of the SNAP Words we have learned so far is coming home ASAP!
Reader's Workshop:
We will finish up our unit on rereading and looking closely at books to learn and notice more.
We will also keep reading some fun books about fall, pumpkins, and Halloween.
Phonics:
We will continue focusing on the common sounds that letters represent! We have also been discussing and learning about syllables in words too! We will continue to practice "chopping" up our words to hear the syllables and to divide the body and coda of words!
Math
In Math this week, we will continue building on our numeracy skills. This week we will focus and review comparing numbers! We will use vocabulary words like greater than, less than, and eqaul to compare objects, pictures, and numbers. We will also be able to represent those vocabulary words by building sets that are greater, less, and equal. We will get to use some extra fun coding tools (BeeBots) to help us represent this week, too!
Social Studies
In Social Studies this week, we will learn about the contributions of two historical figures Jose Antonio Navarro and Stephen F. Austin. We will work on chronological order for our daily routines, and birthdays. We will continue to work on our handwriting skills! So proud of all our Kinder friends writing their name correctly.
Science
This week in Science, we will observe if things move in a straight line, curved line or even a zig zag line. Along with learning about how things move, we will also use relative location to describe their objects location. Some of our vocabulary words we will use are: back and forth, fast and slow, straight line, zig zag, behind, below, besides, in front of, location and position. We will use some of our playground equipment to record our findings.
Great job to this week's scientists!
