In Writer's Workshop we will begin to review all of the writing skills we have learned this year! We will continue to practice using our writing checklist to make sure our writing is good and easy for others to read!
We will begin to finish up our SNAP Word folders! We have learned so many words!

You can also listen to Mrs. Mancuso read a story in the library read aloud folder in Mrs. Brehm's Social Studies Course! Let us know if you need help finding it!
Math
In Math this week, we will be continuing our unit about measurement! I am so proud of all of our Measurement Masterminds!! This week, we will explore the concepts of weight and capacity. We will learn that weight is the measure of how heavy something is. We will compare different objects to see which items weigh more and less. We will learn that capacity means how much a container can hold. We will explore the capacity of different containers!
Science
For the next few weeks, we will be learning about animal and plant habitats and their basic needs to survive in their environment. Animals and Plants need food, water, shelter, nutrients, space, etc. to grow and survive in their natural habitat. We will also explore Habitats such as Deserts, Rainforests, Arctic, Ocean, and Forest to find animals and plants that live in these environments and explain that animals live in different habitats due to their unique attributes and have homes just like people have homes.
Social Studies
In Social Studies this week, we will be celebrating our Wonderful Moms for Mother's Day! We want our Mother's to know how much we respect, honor, and love THEM! We will be writing and creating special projects this week to show how much we appreciate and LOVE our Mom's! Mother's Day is Sunday, May 9th.
We will be celebrating a holiday on Wednesday called Cinco de Mayo (which means 5th of May in Spanish). We will learn all about this holiday and the types of foods, clothing, family activities, and how it is celebrated Around the World!

End of Year Conferences and Summer Practice
As the end of the school year is approaching, we would like to let you know that if you would like a conference with your child's teacher, you may reach out to your child's homeroom teacher. We can set one up via Zoom. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have via email. Before the end of the year, we will send home a list of activities to enhance skills during the summer that will benefit all students! IStation, Dreambox, and Raz-Kids will all be available throughout the summer as well! More information about apps and websites to use over the summer (including usernames and passwords) will be coming!
